Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has called on Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang at the latter’s office at Singh Durbar this afternoon. Issues related to ongoing constitution writing process, current political situation and bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting. The meeting dwelled upon the ways to develop the existing bilateral relations at the peoples level and the parliaments level of the two countries. On the occasion, CA chair Nembang informed Indian External Affairs Minister Swaraj that the new constitution would be promulgated on slated time after completing the peace process and it is on high priority. Promulgating the new constitution is a foundation of national development, Nembang added. Talking to journalists after the meeting, Nembang said that this CA is taking ownership over the agreed issues of the erstwhile CA. The Legislature-Parliament Secretariat is making preparations for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the Legislature-Parliament during his official visit to Nepal, CA chair Nembang told Swaraj.
